December 2006 Dearly Beloved in Christ,
Greetings to you all in the precious name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Once again we have come to the Advent Season. These days we meditate on the divine mystery done for our sake. Without considering the role played by Joseph and Mary we cannot move with Christmas thoughts and celebrations. Christmas celebrates the fact that the infinite God, at a point in time crossed an unimaginable border and personally entered our world. The word became flesh and dwelt among us. This statement is one of the most significant and memorable one ever penned. It has provided the church over the centuries with a key to understanding the mystery of Jesus Christ. It represents the heart and climax of the gospel. Its implications are limitless. There are many aspects to ponder over Christmas.
The challenge of Christmas is the acknowledge and recognize the dignity of human life and existence. Looking and treating people in different standards. To oppose, oppress, suppress, neglect or negate human life is against the very act of incarnation. That is why Paul Lehman said, “The Gospel is the politics of God to make, keep and encourage human life, really human.” What do we do today?
As Christians we are called and chosen to be witnesses and participants in the ongoing Christmas celebrations.
Let us always be happy with the Lord.
Wishing you all a Happy and Meaningful Christmas and a Blessed New Year. Yours in Christ’s Love, Jojan Achen |
